The Linnet Reserve a room

Eleven rooms, one long table, the North Sea.

A Georgian house on Southwold's green, with a kitchen that cooks whatever the boats bring in.

We kept the house as we found it: wide boards, deep baths, windows that rattle a little in an easterly. What we added is quieter. Linen dried on the line, a fire laid every evening, and breakfast whenever you come down.

Built for a captain, kept for slow weekends.

The Linnet was built in 1794 for a captain who wanted to watch his ships come in. We found it in 2016 with its shutters nailed shut, and spent two winters opening it back up.

Marta runs the house and her brother Josef runs the kitchen. Between them, someone is always awake.
