Bespoke terms

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Part of our Terms of service.

These terms are a schedule to our Terms of service. They apply to a Bespoke website, and they sit alongside the Terms and your written quote. Where they say something different from the Terms, these terms apply to your Bespoke build. Anything they don't cover, the Terms do.

1. What Bespoke is

A website we design and build by hand for your business, from the brief you give us, rather than from one of our templates. After launch it's hosted and looked after on a monthly plan, like our other packages.

2. Your quote, and how the contract is made

  1. Your brief. You tell us what you need through our Bespoke brief form.
  2. Scoping. We talk it through with you, by call or email, until we both know what will be built.
  3. Your quote. We email you a written quote. It gives the fixed price for the build; the monthly price from launch; the scope (what is included), in writing; the timetable we'll aim for, when we can give one; the number of changes a month included after launch (2 changes a month unless the quote says otherwise); and our day rate, which is used only if you stop before launch (section 7). The same scope and figures are on your payment page, and the scope stays in your dashboard.
  4. How long it's open. A quote is open for 30 days after we send it. After that it expires, and your payment page says so: ask us and we'll send you a fresh quote.
  5. Acceptance. You accept the quote by paying the deposit on your payment page, where you also accept the Terms of service and these terms. That is when the contract is made. Nothing is charged before then.

Once you've paid the deposit, the quote, its scope, timetable, change allowance and day rate are fixed. A change of scope is a new quote, in writing (section 4).

3. Paying for it

  • Deposit: half the build price, paid when you accept the quote. If the price is an odd number of pence, the extra penny goes on the deposit.
  • Balance: the other half, taken on the day your site goes live.
  • Monthly plan: starts the day your site goes live, with its first payment taken that day, then on the same day each month. What it costs is in your quote and in the Terms (section 4.1).
  • Your card stays on file with our payment provider for the balance and the monthly payments (Terms section 4.7).

4. Scope, revisions and changes

  • The quote's scope is the build. Anything not in it is a change.
  • Revisions. 2 rounds of revisions on the design and 2 rounds on the finished pages are included. A round is one set of changes you send us together. More rounds than that are a change.
  • Changes. If you'd like something outside the scope, or more rounds of revisions, we quote for it in writing, as a price and any effect on the timetable. Nothing outside the scope is done or charged until you accept that quote.

5. Your part

You give us your words, photos, logo and the access we need (your domain and the accounts set up in your name), and you answer our questions. The timetable runs only while we're not waiting on you (Terms section 3).

6. Checking it and going live

  • Sharing it for approval. When the site is built, we share it with you for approval: we email you a link to it, and it appears as “Approve your site” in your dashboard. You tell us it's right, or what needs fixing within the scope.
  • Approving it. You approve it in your dashboard, or tell us by email or on a call (we record when, how and who took it). A new version of the site shared with you replaces the old one, and needs approving again.
  • If you don't reply. We never treat silence as your approval. Your site goes live, and the balance and your monthly plan start, only once you've approved it. Until you approve it or ask us for fixes, we'll send you reminders by email, the first 3 working days after we shared it, and we may ring you. Asking us for fixes pauses the reminders, and a new version shared with you starts them again. A working day is Monday to Friday, not a bank holiday in England.
  • Going live. Your site goes live once you've approved it, and once you've given us what it needs (your onboarding hub), unless we've agreed why it can go without something.
  • Fixes after launch. For 30 days after your site goes live, we fix, free of charge, anything that doesn't work as the scope describes. After that, it's covered by your monthly plan's support (Terms section 9).

7. If either of us stops before launch

  • If you stop. You can stop from your dashboard at any time before launch. It stops that day: no balance is taken and no monthly plan starts. About your deposit: if we haven't yet shared your site for approval, we keep the part of it that covers the work done so far, at the day rate in your quote, and refund the rest. We'll confirm the amount within one working day. Once we've shared your site for approval, the deposit is kept.
  • If we don't hear from you. If we've shared your site and haven't heard from you for 60 days, despite our reminders and a call, we may treat your order as stopped by you under section 7: the deposit is kept, and no balance or monthly plan is charged.
  • If we stop. If we stop, or can't deliver what we quoted, we refund your deposit in full. No balance is taken and no monthly plan starts.
  • Your material is always yours. If you stop before launch, the site work we made isn't (section 8).

Any refund is made to the card you paid with, within 14 days. Your bank may take up to 10 more working days to show it.

8. Who owns what

As the Terms say (section 6): your material is always yours; the site work we make for you becomes yours once the build price has been paid in full (the deposit and the balance); and our shared components are licensed to you permanently from then, including if you move the site to another host or developer.

9. After launch, and cancelling

Like our other plans: a monthly allowance of small changes (the number in your quote), switching tools off and on from your dashboard, software kept up to date and a monthly report. Because the site is built by hand, we take a tool off it, or put it back, ourselves and tell you when it's done. You can cancel at any time, as the Terms say (section 5.2); because the build has been paid for in full by then, your site stays up on your own Cloudflare account, and the tools we run for it switch off.

10. Liability

The limits of our liability in the Terms (section 12) apply to your Bespoke build, as to everything else we do for you. These terms don't add a separate limit.
