We're based in Long Hanborough, between Witney and Woodstock. When we talk about Witney we mean the town and the places around it that share its high street, its supermarkets and its builders' merchants: Ducklington, Curbridge, Hailey, Cogges and Madley Park, out to Carterton, Eynsham, Freeland, Bampton, Minster Lovell, Burford and Charlbury.
Being nearby doesn't change how we work. Everything is done online, from choosing your package to sending us photos, so you don't have to be local and we don't ask you to take a morning off for a meeting. It does mean we know the area your customers live in when we write about where you work.
The work round here
West Oxfordshire mixes old and new. There are Cotswold stone cottages and farmhouses in the villages, Victorian terraces near the town centre, and newer estates on the edges of Witney and Carterton. That mix shapes the trades that do well here, and what their customers want to see before they pick up the phone.
Stone and period homes
Roofers, builders and decorators who know lime mortar, stone slates and older windows have something worth showing. Photos of that work, labelled with the village, say more than a list of services.
Newer estates
Kitchens, bathrooms, extensions, garden rooms and landscaping for houses a few years old. These customers often compare two or three firms online before they call any.
Rural callers
People in the outlying villages want to know straight away whether you cover them. A clear list of the places you work saves you a call that goes nowhere.
How Witney customers find a tradesperson
Most people search on their phone with the job and the place: "electrician Witney", "roofer near Carterton", "boiler service Eynsham". What usually shows first is the map with Google Business Profiles, then websites. A good local site works with your profile rather than instead of it: the same name, number and service area on both, your Google rating on your homepage, and a page that says plainly which villages you cover.

Can we meet in Witney?

No. Witney is close to where we're based in Long Hanborough, but we work with businesses anywhere in the UK.
I cover Carterton, Eynsham and the villages too. Can the site say so?
Yes. We list the places you cover on your site in your own words, so a customer in Bampton or Freeland can see at a glance that you work there.
I already have a Google profile. Do I still need a website?
A profile is a listing on Google; a website is yours. They work best together, with your Google rating shown on your site and the same details on both.
